Wes Leonard Dies After Winning Shot

A Michigan high school‘s star basketball player collapsed about the court and later on died following creating a game-winning layup in overtime to cap his team’s best season. Wes Leonard of Fennville High died Thursday night time. Leonard died of an enlarged heart, according to the medical examiner.

Leonard, a junior who also excelled because the quarterback from the Blackhawks football team, was “by far the best player on that basketball team – outstanding athlete”

On Thursday, Leonard, who previously this period eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his high school career, laid the ball in with lower than thirty seconds remaining. Watch :

Leonard may be the second Fennville athlete to die in 14 months. Wrestler Nathaniel Hernandez, 14, died in January of last yr after suffering a seizure at home subsequent his participation in a very high school wrestling match.
