Adobe Systems popular Portable Document Format, PDF, or, as it has become better known in recent International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard, as this morning.
Adobe is a key developer and patent holder of technology, and today has changed the specification for version 1.7 in the Geneva-based ISO. This is only a year and half of Adobe plans to open specifications Association for Information Management and Image (AIIM), was to lay the foundation for the certification of ISO.
ISO issued a press release on the new standard (the so-called “ISO 32000-1:2008″), together with a quote from the Adobe chief technology officer Kevin Lynch moving to PDF universe: “As governments and organizations increasingly free format Maintenance PDF specification for external and participatory organization will further promote innovation and expansion PDF-rich ecosystems over the past 15 years, “said Lynch. Other new file formats, ISO certification include the Microsoft Office Open XML format, that the vote for approval in April.
