Detroit Marathon Deaths: Three die

Thousands of people gathered in the streets of Detroit yesterday, to either take part in the 2009 Detroit Marathon, or just be a spectator. But for all those people that gathered to take part in the event, may not have realized what was to come next.

According to reports from lalate.com, three people died at yesterday’s event. Although only a few details are known about the deaths, officials say that two deaths occurred during the full marathon and the third death occurred during the half marathon.

Reports say that runner who died in the half marathon, was only 26. The 2 full marathon runners that died were said to be 35 and 65 year old males. Some reports say that the 65-year old, fell and suffered head injuries, but other details aren’t known.
