Danica Patrick Daytona 500

Danica Patrick took part inside the races at Daytona in 2010, but it ended in disappointing fashion when the attractive driving sensation crashed in a 12 car pileup that wasn’t exactly her fault.

Danica Patricks’ Daytona 500 and NASCAR reaction was as follows:

“I remember my very first year at IndyCar where the first couple of races, I do really well, and everybody’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, you should be winning,’ and then it took another couple of years,” Patrick said. “So it’s important to have realistic expectations. There’s going to be spikes in performance, I don’t doubt that. But there’s also going to be tough days. Today was a more tough day. I wish I would’ve run up there at the beginning and felt more comfortable, but I just didn’t. And that just proves how hard it is out here and how much there is to learn and how good all these drivers really are.

Danica Patrick finished 35th out of 43 drivers after being caught in a 12-car pileup within the Drive4COPD 300 Nationwide Series race Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.

The arrival and seeming readiness of the woman into the Daytona 500 brought much excitement to NASCAR normally, but her first major appearance proved that it will still take the time before Danica Patrick can break some ground.
