Goldikova made history on the Breeders’ Cup on Saturday, winning the Mile for your third straight year. No other horse has received three Breeders’ Cup races, although if Zenyatta wins the Classic later on this afternoon, she will equal the feat.

This is the best filly in the world … for now,” jockey Oliver Peslier said, qualifying his declaration eventually Zenyatta will take a crack in the Classic. “She’s a lovely filly,” he stated of Goldikova.

Goldikova was off a step slow from gate ten. She was floated broad into the very first change and settled in fifth about five lengths from leader Sidney’s Candy. Around the far turn, she was just away from the rail in sixth, seven lengths in the entrance, and items appeared bleak. In the very least for any moment.

A moment later, Peslier moved Goldikova up into contention. He shook the reins at her within the lane, and it was around. Goldikova was by no means significantly threatened, beating a number of the best turf horses in training. Her trainer, Freddie Head, was overcome after the race.
